When performing a backup of any type, the following error message is received in the backup report:
|
The message suggests that there is a hardware disk issue with the corresponding User Home.
To resolve the issue, please verify if there are hardware or I/O issues with that particular partition.
Windows:
For ServosityOBS running on Windows, please verify under [Control Panel] -> [Administrative Tools] -> [Event Viewer] if an error could be found. If a disk error is found, please perform a checkdisk on the corresponding partition by entering the command "chkdsk /f" in command prompt.
Linux/Unix:
For ServosityOBS running on Linux/Unix, depending on the distribution, you could try entering the command "cat /var/log/messages" and verify if an error could be found. If a disk error is found, please perform a checkdisk on the corresponding partition by enter the command "/sbin/fsck" and "/sbin/e2fsck" (with the partition un-mount).
Network drive:
If the User Home in concern is a network drive, please verify on the network setting of the corresponding drive, verify if the "Log on" account of the ServosityOBS service has sufficient permission right(s) to access the designated User Home directory.
1. Open [Control Panel] -> [Administrative Tools] -> [Services] -> [Servosity Offsite Backup Server and Replication Server] -> [Log on]
2. Select the [This Account] option
3. Enter the Login Credentials
4. Restart the [Servosity Offsite Backup Server and Replication Server] service
Please also rebuild the User Storage for the corresponding user afterward.
You can do so by logging into ServosityOBS management console, and then select [Manage User] -> [User Profile], you should see an option just under the user summary called [File Validation Option], clicking on this will display the options and a [Check] button. Enable the [Verify Checksum] option, and click on the [Check] button to start the single user rebuild.
Please allow the rebuild user storage job to run to its completion, and then perform a manual backup afterward.
Finally, if you are running an older version of ServosityOBS (Pre-5.2.4.0), you could consider patching the ServosityOBS server to the latest patch release. The instruction can be found here
