Before you begin, make sure you have the correct VirtualBox version installed on your host. Click HERE to view a list of supported versions.
Log in to ShadowProtect SPX.
Use the Tools drop-down and select VirtualBoot...
Here you will need to specify how much RAM you would like to allocate to your VM as well as the name.
You can choose to not automatically boot after the VM is created. You may want to do this if you plan on adding more virtual processors.
Next, select Add Image File and browse your Destinations for the ShadowProtect image you wish to boot.
If your images are encrypted you will need the credentials to access them.
Once configured, select Create to begin the VirtualBoot process.
If a supported version of VirtualBox is not installed you will be prompted.
A status window will appear.
Once complete, we can console into our newly created VirtualBox Virtual Machine.
Note: ShadowProtect will provide the VM with a temporary product key for ShadowProtect SPX. If you wish to backup any changes made to the VM, it is recommended that you create a separate destination and backup job within the Virtual Machine itself.
