Since the Servosity installer is a stub installer, which downloads the application files directly from the server when the installer is run, sometimes you can run into an issue where you will get this error message:
There are several possible reasons for this error.
- You may be using an older version installer. Old installer packages are invalidated when the server software is updated to prevent issues. Please always download the latest installer by logging into https://preview.servosity.com, and clicking on any company, then in the company links at the top click "Download Software".
- You might have renamed the installer file. Since we have a few different companies running a branded version of Servosity, the installer uses the file name to determine where to download the app data from. If you change it, the stub can no longer connect to the server to download the application files.
- There could be a network connection or firewall issue. The installer has to connect to the server (svtpreview.servosity.com for most customers) in order to download the application files. If there is no internet connection, or traffic is being blocked, then the installer won't work. You can download the offline installer in this case, but be aware that you'll have to be connected to the internet and allow traffic to our server through your firewall for backups to work.
