ShadowProtect SPX - This is the DR Imaging software. ShadowProtect is used to create local images of volumes. You'll want this installed on every system that you want to backup. If you only have one system to backup you can store the local images on any volume that isn't part of the backup source. If you've got multiple systems, the best practice is to provide some shared storage such as a NAS or dedicated backup server. Installing ShadowProtect requires a reboot before backups can be completed.
ImageManager - While ShadowProtect will create full and incremental backup images, running 10+ backups per day will exceed the maximum chain length of 500 images in less than 2 months. This is where ImageManager comes in. In addition to verifying the integrity of the images, it will keep the image chain short by consolidating the backups into daily, weekly, and monthly versions, and then remove older images to free up space. If you've got centralized storage, you'll only need one install of ImageManager to manage all of your backup stores. Installing ImageManager requires a reboot before images can be processed.
Servosity Professional - The Servosity agent is used to make a copy of local ShadowProtect images to the Servosity Cloud. You'll only need to backup the folder that ShadowProtect is writing it's images to. Servosity and ImageManager should typically be installed together on a single system with access to your backup store, so you've got one place to administrate the backup sets.
Diagnostic Tools - These optional tools assist with gathering and sending the relevant backup logs to the Servosity support team to help us diagnose and repair issues with your backup jobs.
