When signing with Servosity, you may already have a ShadowProtect SPX chain, but we always start a new backup chain created following our best practices. However, you can store the archived chain in our cloud, under certain conditions.
Just like with any new process, you want to make sure things start correctly. You wouldn't want to start building a house using someone else's existing foundations so, why do that with your backups?
We trust our processes at Servosity and we want to be completely certain that you can trust our backups so, we require new servers to start a new SPX chain created with our best practices. However, that doesn't mean you have to abandon your old chain. You can keep the old chain in your local storage for as long as you'd like and, if you want, you can also upload it to our cloud!
We'll upload and store your old SPX chain if your retention is 4 years or more.
If you really want us to keep your old chain, you will have to increase your retention from the default 1 year, to 4 or more years, and then let us know on the setup ticket. We'll confirm after the archived chain has been uploaded.
