Creating Exceptions for Servosity in Antivirus and Anti-Malware Programs

With the extreme increase of cyber attacks in recent years, we are seeing a much needed increase in both adoption and sophistication of security software. Along with the increased vigilance of Antivirus programs like AVG, Symantec, and Webroot, we have also seen the rise of behavioral tracking software such as SentinelOne and Cisco AMP. These are great security programs, but as they look for anomalies, even legitimate applications like Servosity are being caught as a false positive. 

If that's happening to you, here's a list of all the folders our software runs in or writes to, and the files we run in the background (assuming you have Servosity and Windows installed on your C drive):

Servosity One Exceptions (Servosity Safe)

  • C:\Program Files\ServosityOneSetup-3.1.1.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Servosity One\ServosityOne.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Servosity One\bin\windows\restic.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Servosity One\servosity_one_service.exe

Firewall Exceptions

  • Port 587

Servosity Professional Classic Exceptions

  • C:\Program Files\ServosityPro
  • C:\Program Files\ServosityPro\bin\cbpsX64.exe (Servosity Scheduler Service)
  • C:\Program Files\ServosityPro\bin\SystemTray64.exe
  • C:\Program Files\ServosityPro NFS
  • C:\Program Files\ServosityPro NFS\bin\nfsX64.exe
  • C:\ProgramData\ServosityPro
  • C:\Users\<username of the user running Servosity>\.obm
  • The Temp directory for any BackupSets (by default it's C:\Users\<username of the user running Servosity>\temp)

Servosity Standard Classic Exceptions

  • C:\Program Files\ServosityStandard
  • C:\Program Files\ServosityStandard\bin\cblsX64.exe (Servosity Scheduler Service)
  • C:\Program Files\ServosityStandard\bin\SystemTray64.exe
  • C:\ProgramData\ServosityStandard
  • C:\Users\<username of the user running Servosity>\.acb
  • The Temp directory for any BackupSets (by default it's C:\Users\<username of the user running Servosity>\temp)

ShadowProtect SPX Exceptions

Executables, files, and services to exclude:

  • C:\Windows\System32\drivers\stcvsm.sys
  • C:\Program Files\StorageCraft\spx\stcinst.exe
  • C:\Program Files\StorageCraft\spx\spx_gui.exe
  • C:\Program Files\StorageCraft\spx\vsnapvss.exe
  • C:\Program Files\StorageCraft\spx\spx_gui_mount.exe
  • C:\Program Files\StorageCraft\spx\spx_service.exe
  • DiskRoot\*.IDX

Directories to exclude:

  • C:\ProgramData\StorageCraft\
  • C:\Program Files\StorageCraft\
  • Any backup destination from on-access scanning. It is recommended that a scheduled scan is run during off-peak hours.

StorageCraft ImageManager

Executables, files, and services to exclude:

  • ​C:\Program Files (x86)\StorageCraft\ImageManager\ImageManager.exe

Directories to exclude:

  • C:\Program Files (x86)\StorageCraft\​
  • Any managed destination from on-access scanning. It is recommended that a scheduled scan is run during off-peak hours.
