End of Life: DR Linux For Gold Companies

In our goal to simplify backups we decided that we should focus our efforts down to make our backups as secure and safe as possible. As a result, we have to trim out some options that we would have tried to support in the past.

We've decided to end support for Gold/Fully Managed DR Linux accounts. While we still support DR Backups for Linux Systems, we will no longer be managing those accounts.

We decided on this change for a number of reasons but, the main reason is that we want to Simplify backups and we realized that to truly do that, we need to narrow down our focus. This means that the only backups our team will be managing going forward are Windows DR accounts, through Servosity Simplified companies.

Effective 11/1/23, we will no longer allow new DR Server Linux accounts on Servosity Gold companies. If you are adding a DR Server Linux account to a Gold company, you will need to upgrade that company to Simplified. If you are creating a new company for a DR Server Linux backup, it will need to be a Simplified company.

For existing Gold DR Server Linux accounts, nothing will change at this moment. However, the plan is to eventually migrate all of those accounts to Self-Managed accounts. The official End of Life date for Gold DR Server Linux accounts is 4/1/24. At this point we will stop managing those endpoints, even if the company is still Gold. We strongly recommend that you convert these companies to Simplified by this date to take advantage of the lower cost of DR Server Linux.

While this was not an easy decision to make, we believe that focusing on a single product and making it the best we possibly can before considering branching out to other options is the best way forward. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Servosity support and we'll be happy to discuss it with you.
