Error: Invalid Byte 1 of 1 UTF-8 Sequence Error (Classic)

This is a Classic error message that can be resolved easily with the following steps.

*Note* the error message can have different numbers ex. Invalid Byte 2 of 3 UTF-8 Sequence Error

  • Stop the Servosity Professional Service
  • Find the settings.sys file in the following directory:
    C:\Users\<USER THAT RUNS SERVOSITY BACKUP>\.acb\config\settings.sys
  • Rename the file to old.settings.sys
  • Start the Servosity Professional Service
  • Open ServosityPro and log into the backup account

You should be able to access the homepage now and run a manual backup!
