Because OneDrive shows cloud files as though they were on the hard drive, Servosity One is able to detect those files, and will attempt to back them up when the OneDrive folder is part of the backup source. However, since those files don't actually exist on the hard drive, we're unable to back them up, and this will generate a "Cloud File Error" on the Servosity One backup report.
There are 2 ways to handle those errors, which are discussed in detail on this article. If you choose to exclude the OneDrive folder from your backup, you will need to make sure that the User folders are not stored in OneDrive if you want Servosity One to back them up.
First open File Explorer, and select "This PC" on the left.
Any folders that are being synced with OneDrive will have a small cloud icon to the left of them. In the above screenshot that is just the Pictures folder.
To move the Pictures folder out of OneDrive and have Servosity back it up instead:
- Click on the OneDrive icon in the system tray, click the gear icon in the top right, then click the "Manage Backup" button on the right.
- You will see a check mark next to any folders you are not backing up with OneDrive, ignore those, and click "Stop backup" underneath the folders that are already backed up.
- This will create a new empty directory under the Users\<username> folder for each of them.
- Browse to the OneDrive path, "C:\Users\<username>\OneDrive"
- Move each of the folders from that path to "C:\Users\<username>"
- When the move is complete you can run a manual Servosity backup and make sure that you can see the new files have been backed up.
