DR Server Linux Backup
Servosity One is used to backup a Linux DR Server chain to the cloud. All File backup retention policies apply.
File Backup
Servosity One File Backups use simple retention. This means that any files that are backed up are kept for the selected amount of time after they are changed or deleted. Files that are not changed or deleted are kept indefinitely.
We include 1 year of retention with all Servosity One backup accounts. Any files which have been deleted or changed will have their previous version(s) kept in retention for 365 days. On the 366th day after that file was changed or deleted, that version will be removed from retention and will no longer be available for restore.
For an additional charge, you are able to select 4, 7 or 10 year retention. This selection is made per account, and can be changed at any time. Increasing the retention period will prevent older versions from being removed from retention if they haven’t been already, but will not restore any files which have already been removed when the previous retention period was reached.
Reducing the retention period will cause all versions of files which are older than the newly selected retention policy to be deleted immediately, and they will no longer be available for restore. Because of this, we require the user who requested this change to provide an MFA code.
All of this applies to active backup accounts. If an account is deleted, either maliciously or by mistake, you must let us know immediately. We are able to recover deleted backup accounts for a short period of time, but for security reasons we do not disclose how long. There may be a delay and/or cost associated with recovering a deleted backup account.
If you’d like to talk through the specific use-cases and examples, please feel free to contact our support department for clarification.
