Servosity data migration to AWS S3 cloud storage

Any backup sets that were created on our Servosity version 6 or older client software are using our local datacenter storage for their cloud backup destination. While we have never lost any customer data due to any issues with our hardware, we are always looking for new and better ways to protect your customers valuable data. Because of this, when we built Servosity version 7, we included the ability to backup to public clouds, and started storing all backup data in Amazon S3.

As of 12/4/19 we have upgraded all of our backup servers to version 8, and began the process of updating the clients as well. While the newer client software does still support backing up to our local datacenter for legacy backup sets, we changed the default to S3.

Over the past 7 months over 98% of our Servosity version 6 installations have been upgraded to version 8, and we have notified all the remaining partners with version 6 endpoints of our End-of-Life date of 10/12/20. Starting on that date, we will begin migrating all of your backup data from our datacenter to S3 storage. This will not affect the backup process, and there is no action required on your part. You may notice that the destination changes from CBS (Cloud Backup Server) to Servosity Unlimited, but you won't have to reupload any data from the source, daily incrementals will continue as normal.

If you have any questions about the migration process, the reasons behind the migration, or if you're concerned that you may have a version 6 client still in production, please email us at support@servosity.com or call 1-800-429-0500
