What do I need to do for a Simplified DR Backup?

There are a few steps that we need you to take before we can manage your DR Backups.

To start, make sure you have access to the Servosity Portal. Most of the magic will happen there so make sure you and your techs have access.

  • Create a new Company and select Servosity Simplified
  • On the Company Dashboard, use the Servosity One Installer or the Powershell Script to install Servosity One on every system that will be backed up and on the ImageManager system/BDR
  • Similarly, install our Remote Access Installer on every system

*NOTE* ServosityOne and Connectwise installers are Per Company. The systems will not show up for provisioning if you use a different Company's Installer.

  • Select Add or Provision Account
    • Next, click Provision Servosity One
    • You should see the systems in the list ready to be provisioned, select one to start
    • Follow the questions to create and provision your accounts. You can also find a more indepth provisioning guide here
    • Make sure there is a backup account for every System being backed up
  • Next head over to the Credentials & Keys page found under the Company Dropdown

    • Create the Servosity Windows User(s) (in AD if possible) and add the Servosity User to the Local Administrator group for every system
    • Create the Servosity User on the NAS or BDR and make it an Admin/Local Admin
    • Add those credentials to the Credentials & Keys page
  • If you run SentinelOne, CiscoAMP, or any Next-Gen AV/malware, whitelist our software (Servosity One, ShadowProtect SPX, ImageManager)
  • Uninstall any Prior Backup/DR Software
  • Install ShadowProtect SPX on every system and Reboot (we recommend doing this so we can get backups running right away however, we will install SPX and request a reboot if it is not currently installed)
  • Notify us by replying to the Support Ticket, you should've received an email from us when you created the company. Just reply to that email and we'll get right to it!

We'll get the backups configured and update you on the status. From here on we will also monitor and recommend a seed drive if necessary. If you have any trouble with this or have any questions at all, please email us at Support@Servosity.com.
